About Us

This all began back in 1974, when a 9 year old kid rescued his first sign from a trash pile behind a recently closed business. Since then, the collection has grown to hundreds of signs and the formation of this website and museum to allow people to see these roadside treasures once again.

The museum's misson is to collect, preserve, study and exhibit iconic signs for educational, historic and cultural enrichment. The collection is located in Minot, North Dakota, in close proximity to the geographical center of North America, making for an easy to access centralized location from anywhere. The museum is not currently open for general admission, visitation of the collection is possible via tours by advance appointment only.
